  Remote Access Inspection

Remote access ultrasonic crawlers are used to allow cost effective ultrasound thickness measurements on above ground ferro-magnetic structures without the need for costly scaffolding or rope access.

Scorpion DCP and Scorpion BP

The Scorpion is a remote access ultrasonic crawler designed to allow cost effective ultrasound thickness measurements on above ground ferro-magnetic structures without the need for costly scaffolding or rope access.

It uses a unique "Dry Coupled" wheel probe eliminating the need for traditional couplant. This allows the crawler to travel vertically, horizontally or even inverted whilst still fully functional. The system is battery operated and is capable of 10 hours operation on a single charge.

Scorpion B-scan The Scorpion B-scan remote access crawler iscapable of producing both A-scan and B-scan images. The crawler, utilises the Silverwing unique "Dry Coupled" wheel probe or an irrigated twin crystal transducer. Supplied with a lightweight, flexible 30 metre umbilical cable the Scorpion B-scan is capable of accessing the furthest point of most structures without the need for scaffolding. The system is battery operated and is capable of 8 hours operation on a single charge.

The easy to use defect sizing tools plus combined with cut and paste functions allow the export of defect images directly into other Windows software packages such as Word or Excel. From being a simple corrosion detection device, these features turn the Scorpion B-scan into one of the most cost effective, comprehensive Ultrasonic Imaging Systems on the market today.
