NDT Tank and Pipeline Inspection Services
The Inspection Service Division’s plant is up-dated on a regular basis to ensure Silverwing Middle East always has the latest technology available. To compliment the Inspection Services, Silverwing Middle East is able to offer full engineering assessment of tankage to meet the guidelines laid down by EEMUA 159 and API 653 including "fitness for purpose" and inspection scheduling reports. Our personnel employ best working practices with safety a top priority. Preparation and execution of site-specific health and safety plans coupled with detailed inspection procedures ensure Silverwing Middle East meets all Health & Safety and International inspection specification requirements.

- Tank chime (external annular), shells and roofs – Auto Ultrasonic crawler systems using our unique Scorpion B-Scan, ScanmapVS or Silverwing RMS2 600.
- Tank floors – Screening by Acoustic emission testing
- Thermographic inspection
- API 653 Visual inspection
- Laser alignment of tank shell to cover
- Plumbness
- Roundness
- Settlement
Out of Service Inspection of Above or Below Ground Storage Tanks, Pressure Vessels, Spheres, Ship Hulls, etc.. Utilising:
- Tank Floors - Silverwing unique magnetic flux leakage FloormapVS2i, HandScan, UT Flaw Detection, UT Tthickness Gauging, UT Thickness Profiling or Corrosion Mapping.
- Tank chime, annular, shells and roofs – Manual HandScan or Auto Ultrasonic crawler systems using one of our unique Scorpion (B scan), or ScanmapVS (C scan) or Silverwing RMS600 or RMS 300 systems.
- Flat and annular weld seam bubble leak testing service using our electrically operated oil less vacuum pumps which eliminate the need to hire or purchase expensive compressors
- MT and PT inspection
- Manual UT D-Scan Flaw detection and T-Scan thickness / coating systems

Pipe Work Inspection
Corrosion inspection of flow lines, pipelines, buried pipelines and similar systems using one or a combination of:
- Silverwing PipeScan magnetic flux leakage inspection system to cover non insulated pipe sizes in the range 48 mm to 2400 mm,
- Guided Ultrasonic Ltd. latest generation Wavemaker 3 guided waveform (GW) ultrasonic inspection system with enhanced focused capability as manufactured by Guided Ultrasonic Ltd.
- Unique Silverwing R-Scan and/or Z-Scan manual ultrasonic B and C scan imaging system respectively.
- Manual ToFD inspection.
- Auto UT inspection of pipelines using Scorpion B Scan, ScanmapVS, Silverwing RMS300P or RMS450P systems to give thickness mapping, weld quality imaging with ToFD applications.
- Manual inspection using Silvering D-Scan flaw detection units and T-Scan thickness and coating inspection units.
- Thermographic inspection.
- Visual inspection to API 570,1104 etc including Pit Gauging of top surface defects as appropriate.
Condition Monitoring
Condition monitoring by techniques comprising of:

- Auto UT inspection of pressure vessels and ship hulls using Scorpion B Scan, ScanmapVS or Silverwing RMS 600 systems to give thickness mapping, weld quality imaging and ToFD applications.
- Manual ultrasonic B and C scan imaging system respectively.
- Manual ToFD inspection.
- Auto ToFD and Corrosion mapping inspection to identify issues with respect to HB, LTHA, HTHA, SSC, SOHIC, etc
- Guided wave for tubes both internal and external, pipe supports, corrosion under insulation (CIU) etc.
- Acoustic emission for in-service inspection of pressure vessels, offshore platforms, foundation piles and any other structures that may have been identified as being in a critical position.
- Acoustic emission for leak (passing) valve measurements.
- GE RIGHTRAX ultrasonic mats permanently installed corrosion measuring equipment
- Thermography.
- Vibration analysis of fixed or rotating installations.
- Recertification services of storage tanks using EEMUA 159, API 653, API 575 and API 579 standards.
Russell NDE Systems Inc (RNSI) Inspection Services
- Boiler water wall and super heater tube inspection services with robotic deployment of Tube Cat and Vertiscan on either plain or rifle tube designs
- Internal inspection of steam or mud dream tubes including spiral wound tube designs
- In-line inspection services of oil and gas pipelines 2” to 8” diameter using See snake tools.
- Large diameter water and sewerage pipe line inspection services.
- Storage tank and pressure vessel annular inspection.
- Consultancy services comprising client training programs on RNSI manufactured equipments as well as other electromagnetic inspection techniques.
Other Services
- Full 24 hour, 7 day, 365 days after sales service covering supply of OEM spare parts, Calibration and repair of Silverwing equipment to validate the equipment is functioning in line with OEM performance criteria as well as International calibration standards.
- Hire of Non Asian and Asian specialist tank inspection and UT inspection engineers.
- Product familiarisation and training programmes for Silverwing equipment as well as MFL techniques.
- Hire of Silverwing equipment.
